Late at night, Leonida, a retired clerk, explains to his wife how the republic will work: no taxes, a salary for everyone and every debt cancelled. When shots ring out in the street, the couple barricade themselves in, sure that the reaction has come for them. Outside, the neighbourhood is only celebrating the eve of Lent.
